In shakespeare's tragedies, often the main character is given a chance to say something significant before he dies. What speech might function as Macbeth's farewell, even though it doesn't occur in act v, scene 8?

Answers

Macbeth's "tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" speech in Act 5, scene 5 acts as Macbeth's farewell. In it he thinks about the meaning of life and decides that death is something that comes to everyone, people are all just walking the earth with no importance. "Signifying nothing" at the end refers to man's life, it means nothing, according to Macbeth. He relates a person's life to an actor who plays a part on a stage for a couple hours and then disappears, doesn't exist anymore.
This speech shows that he has essentially given up (in his mind) and thinks that life is meaningless.

In Shakespeare's tragedies, often the main character is given a chance to say something significant before he dies. The speech that may function as Macbeth's farewell, occurs in Act V, Scene V, of "The Tragedy of Macbeth". Macbeth is told by a messenger that his wife is dead and he says that she should have died later and that life is like a tale told by an idiot. This speech starts  with "She should have died hereafter...it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

What is Penguin?

Penguin is the seabird which cannot fly due to its weight and which is found in the Southern Hemisphere. In the body of the Penguin, the upper part is black and white. It also has the wings which developed as flippers, helpful in swimming under the water.

The author started the paragraph by saying, "He didn't look like the other penguins, and he didn't think like the other penguins either. He was an outlier. For starters, he wore horned-rimmed spectacles he discovered on the wreckage of an antique whaling ship that had floundered and became caught in the ice near where he resided".

Therefore, it can be concluded that alternate penguin first sentence includes the details about the penguin.

A crowd of workmen and curious passersby had formed all along the train. They had undoubtedly never seen a train with this kind of cargo. Soon, pieces of bread were falling into the wagons from all sides. And the spectators observed these emaciated creatures ready to kill for a crust of bread. –Night, Elie Wiesel What is the author’s viewpoint about the experience in the passage?

A) The author believes the experience dehumanizes people both on and off the train.
B) The author believes much-needed rations are being shared with hungry prisoners.
C) The author believes this is a great kindness on behalf of the workmen and passersby.
D) The author believes the experience shows neither group of people understands the other.

Answers

The answer is A) The author believes the experience dehumanizes people both on and off the train.

In Night, Elie Wiesel shares his experience in the Nazi concentration camps. Through the book, he writes how the values of humanity are lost and some of the concepts he grow up with are useless now.

In this excerpt we can see how the situation happening inside the wagon is inhuman, because the people on the train are considered to be less than humans, more like animals, because their need for food makes them fight for something as minimal as a crust of bread.

One of the values that makes us human is the solidarity and the ability to share feelings with other humans. In this excerpt, we can also see that the passersby and the workers enjoy watching people fight for bread crumbs, therefore they have lost this value, becoming less human for it.

The options B and C are incorrect, because the passersby and the workmen are not sharing food rations with the hungry prisoners (only bread crumbs, that can't be considered rations), nor being kind with them. The option D can be also considered correct but is not as descriptive as the option A.
