In September 1990, a little more than a month after Iraq invaded Kuwait, President George H.W. Bush gave a speech to Congress in which he described "A world where the rule of law supplants the rule of the jungle. A world in which nations recognize the shared responsibility for freedom and justice. A world where the strong respect the rights of the weak." Read the speech again, and then list the pros and cons of such a policy. What might the role of the United States be in global affairs based on this policy?

Answers

The formation of alliances between two countries that keep the wars away from happening.

The advantage of such type of policy leads to the formation of alliances between different countries in order to counter the threat or attack of another country. In such type of policy, there will be less threat of wars and the societies will achieve peace and harmony.

This policy is very good and in my opinion it has no disadvantage. The place of United States of America is that it plays a role of mediator between two countries or peacekeeper because it is a superpower that is their responsibility to avoid wars and keep peace.

Answer: This is my paraphrasing of the other answer for Plato

Some pros of this policy could be the alliances between countries, countries joining together against threats. There would be alliances for war and the well-being of the people. It would put the us in a good light as well and make them seem in a position to help others.

In turn though there are also a few cons. It could put United States in a position to have to help a country in a way they are not prepared for such as money and fighting. It also does not clearly state where the US stands on the alliance. Without specifications there could be too many or too little limits to their involvement.
